INTRODUCTION:

A.  MISTAKEN IDEAS ABOUT THIS PASSAGE.

          1.  The lost sinner enters the door by baptism (Acts 2:38).

          2.  What does he lead them out of? (vs. 3).

          3.  “They understood not …” (vs. 6).

B.  A STUDY WILL BE GOOD.

I.        THE MESSIAH MUST ENTER BY THE DOOR.

A.  THE DOOR IS FULFILL PROPHECY.

B.  JESUS APPEALS TO THE PROPHETS AS A PROOF THAT HE IS THE CHRIST.

          1.  He endorses the Old Testament (Matt. 5:17-18).

          2.  Moses wrote of the Christ and Jesus fulfilled

                   (John 1:43-455:39-47Luke 24:44-48).

II.  LET US NOTICE SOME OF THE PROPHECIES.

A.  MOSES WROTE OF ME (John 5:46). – 1400 B. C.

          1.  First 5 books of the Old Testament written by Moses (Gen. 3:1522:15-18).

          2.  Christ, God’s spokesman (Deut. 18:15-19Heb. 1:1-3Acts 3:13, 22-26).

B.  SO DID ISAIAH.  740 B. C.

          1.  The Virgin birth (Isa. 7:14Matt. 1:21-24).

          2.  Death for our sins (Isa. 53:4-71 Pet. 2:21-243:17-18Acts 8:30-36).

          3.  The Spirit of God rest upon him (Isa. 42:1-4Matt. 12:15-23).

C.  AND MICAH (Micah 5:1-2). – 740 B. C.

          1.  Bethlehem  (Matt. 2:1-6).

          2.  From everlasting (John 1:1-3, 148:58).

D.  JEREMIAH – 600 B. C.

          1.  The New Covenant (Jer. 31:31-34).

          2.  The angels refer to Jeremiah (Jer. 23:5-6Luke 1:30-35).

E.  THE FORERUNNER.
