Forms of Idolatry
A. WORSHIP IS AN IMPORTANT FACET OF OUR FAITH.
1. Strong's, proskuneo (pros-koo-neh'-o); (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking
his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate
oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):
2. "to make obeisance, do reverence to" (from pros, "towards," and kuneo,
"to kiss"), is the most frequent word rendered "to worship." It is used of an
act of homage or reverence ( Vine's ).
B. SOMETIMES WE MISDIRECT OUR WORSHIP. DO WE WORSHIP IDOLS?
A. IMAGE WORSHIP ( Ex. 20:4-5; Acts 19:26 ).

2. Worship of the creature( Rom. 1:22-25 ).
B. HERO WORSHIP ( Acts 12:21-23; 14:8-18 ).

2. Those who worship the belly won[t listen to God( 2 Pet. 2:2, 9-11 ).
D. MAMMON WORSHIP( Matt. 6:24 ).

E. SELF-WORSHIP.
